JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Manager, Biomedical Engineering is responsible for applying knowledge of biomedical engineering to the design, development, and evaluation of systems and medical equipment used in the hospital. He/she ensures the safe and effective use of equipment through training and feedback from users.
- Evaluates the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipments
- Develops work schedules for all staff and make adjustments as needed to accommodate changing workloads
- Teaches biomedical engineering, or disseminate knowledge about field to sub ordinates and students
- Audits work completed by in house staff and takes corrective actions when necessary
- Verifies process exists to ensure appropriate and timely response to all service requests
- Monitors and controls resources and oversees expenditures of Biomedical equipment
- Works with management staff in recommending how best to control equipment service related costs
- Ensures cost-effective purchase of new / refurbished medical equipment for the hospital
- Evaluates staff productivity, efficiency and other specific work quality performance indices
- Ensures all resources are available to staff members as needed to allow them to perform maintenance and repair of medical equipment and systems as assigned
- Produces, reviews and makse assessments of various reports related to work completion, unfinished work, preventive maintenance completion rates and repeat requirement failures
- Recommends equipment renovation, refurbishment, replacement or re-deployment based on equipment age, failure rate, cost of service and overall ability to support the clinical use for which it is intented
- Assesses the potential wider market for products or modifications suggested by health professionals or others
- Designs and develops medical diagnostic and clinical instrumentation, equipment, and procedures, utilizing the principles of engineering and bio-behavioral sciences.
- Establishes long-range objectives for improving services and specifies strategies and actions required to achieve them.
- Timely performance of Preventive Maintenance of hospital equipment with complete record maintenance.
- Efficient diagnosis and correction of equipment malfunction as measured by CMS tumaround time
- Coordination with intemal and external customers as measured by customer feedback
